Providing a safe workplace environment for Ashcraft Mechanical employees is as important as providing a quality construction product.  Safety is a responsibility the company takes serious everyday to ensure our employees get home safely to their families and are able to come to work the next day.

THE COMPANY: Ashcraft Mechanical has a well defined safety policy that defines the purpose and scope of our safety program. All new employees are oriented to the company’s policy upon hiring and are continuously reminded of the risks associated with their job. The company provides OSHA required training & certifications for all employees, in addition to weekly Best Management Practices on the job site. The company provides employees with safe tools and personal protective equipment throughout their employment at Ashcraft Mechanical.  In addition to internal safety reviews, the company employees an independent safety organization to perform weekly safety audits on all job sites and to report findings at the field and management levels. Safety is on the agenda of weekly management meetings supported by measurable indicators to determine the impact of incidents and to address issues that have been identified by safety reviews. The companies Experience Modification Rate has been below 1.0 for the past five years.

THE EMPLOYEE: From the time an employee starts work at Ashcraft Mechanical they are trained and educated about the potential hazards associated with the job and the locations in which they work.  Where required, they receive OSHA certifications and training. Certifications are required to be kept current throughout their employment at the company. Employees are given the knowledge and tools to minimize their risk on the job. All employees are required to wear personal protective equipment consistent with the work they are performing on a job.  Every employee receives weekly toolbox training while on the job site.

ASHCRAFT MECHANICAL is a participant in the Association of Builders and Contractors – Safety Training and Evaluation Process (STEP) performing self evaluation of their overall safety program.  In addition, Ashcraft Mechanical actively participates on the organizations Safety Steering Committee to assist in identifying best management practices and training requirements within the industry. Ashcraft Mechanical has received the highest level of achievement for the STEP program.
